When a piercing cold wind blows in the harsh landscape of Kamchatka, Raven Kutkh flies over his possessions. He keeps a sharp lookout on whether the heavenly hosts shine as brightly, whether the mountain river is full of fish, whether the fire keeps burning in the mountains warming up its surroundings with its breath. And afterwards he perches by the «Kaynyran» settlement to listen to the songs, fables and legends of the Kamchtka’s natives. He is very happy that people still remember him and venerate traditions.
For as long as anyone can remember the Koriaks believe that every thing and every phenomenon has a Soul. This is a basis for a respectful attitude to nature. On the threshold of an important event they perform a dance designed to attract luck and protection. This cheerful, friendly, lively people invite you for a visit. They will happily introduce you to all the details of their culture, treat you to their traditional food and drinks and show you their sled dogs.
Who knows, maybe you’ll tune into the beat of this people’s spirit and embrace their traditions and practise them in your everyday life.
A visit to the recreational compound «Zelenovskiye ozerki», which is famous among the locals for its healing water will be a wonderful conclusion to the trip.
